6Yearly Exams: Yearly exams are extremely important for maintaining the health and well-being of your companion animal. A complete physical exam can alert the veterinarian to potential health risks that can be prevented or treated with early intervention. Yearly exams are also a requirement for maintaining the client-pet-doctor relationship that is necessary for receiving all medications prescribed by your veterinarian. Vaccinations are an integral part in the health of your pet as well. Adult dogs receive a regimen of vaccinations including distemper, parvo and leptospirosis. There are also vaccinations for kennel cough (Bordetella), flu (H3N2/H3N8), and lyme disease. Adult cats receive distemper and vaccinations for upper respiratory diseases. There is also a feline leukemia vaccine for cats. Rabies vaccine for both cats and dogs is required by law. A timeline and description of vaccines can be found under “Vaccinations”.
7Surgical Services: Our surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety. We require blood work for pets four years of age and older, but it is recommended for all pets that will be anesthetized. It is always good to have blood work on healthy pets as a baseline for future reference.
8Spays and Neuters: To ensure the safety and health of your pet, we recommend all cats and dogs be spayed or neutered. Dogs and cats spayed before their first heat cycle have shown a decrease in the risk of mammary cancer later in life. It also eliminates the risk of uterine infections. In addition, neutering males helps eliminate the risk of testicular and prostate cancer.
9Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
